Wonderfolk ambassadors are rising leaders in the Portland-area business community helping Wonderfolk engage like-minded friends and colleagues to explore strategic partnerships, raise funds and advocate for Wonderfolk’s work. They represent a wide array of backgrounds, perspectives and sectors, and are passionate about making Portland a better city for all.

The mission of the Ambassador Board is to drive resources and raise awareness to help the organization achieve its overall programmatic mission; connecting, engaging, and inspiring friends and colleagues to help Wonderfolk grow and thrive.

  • Kelsey Harris

    Marketing Director at Jacobsen Salt Co.

    Kelsey Harris is a marketing and brand strategist with over nine years of experience, spanning cause-based organizations to the natural and organic CPG food space. She currently serves as the Marketing Director at Jacobsen Salt Co., leading its marketing and brand initiatives while prioritizing collaboration to bring ideas to life.

    Passionate about fostering curiosity and growth, she wholeheartedly supports Wonderfolk's mission and how it encourages students to question, explore, and step beyond their comfort zones to unlock their full potential. She is excited to support the incredible work the Wonderfolk team is doing and its evolution.

    In her free time, if she's not cooking or thrifting, you can currently find Kelsey experimenting with novice landscape design, improving her golf game, and running around Portland.

  • Nichola Stein

    Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Umpqua Bank

    Nichola is a Senior Human Resources Business Partner with Umpqua Bank. She advises business leaders on a variety of people-related topics, including associate development, organization structure, and how to be great bosses and employees.

    Nichola has traveled internationally in Europe and Asia for both work and pleasure, and she served as an AmeriCorps Vista Volunteer in Nogales, AZ. She has also volunteered with local non-profit organizations. The nexus of studying Sociology, Business & HR while working with real people across the globe on leadership development is what landed her in the Ambassador role at Wonderfolk.

  • Sara Morrissey

    Deputy City Administrator for City Operations for the City of Portland

    Sara was born in Mexico and spent much of her childhood in Astoria, Oregon. She was inspired to take on a public service career through her mother’s role in establishing the Lower Columbia Hispanic Council. She received her BA in Economics and Spanish from Williams College and a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Since living in Portland, Sara has developed extensive experience in the public sector with an emphasis on project management, policy development, and government relations. She has participated in and led various infrastructure, planning, and policy projects and teams, including establishing a public policy program at Travel Oregon and developing the Levee Ready Columbia program. Sara served as the Mayor’s Deputy Chief of Staff for three years and starting July 2024, is now the Deputy City Administrator for City Operations for the City of Portland. The City Operations Service Area manages the City of Portland’s internal operations, including human resources, technology services, procurement, fleet and facilities, 311, special projects, and security. Sara has served on a variety of boards in the Portland area including Oregon Walks, MEJOR Communities and the Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation. She is excited to serve as a Wonderfolk Ambassador as she believes strongly in the organization and its values and vision focused on youth leadership development.

  • Taiz Gomez

    Associate Project Manager at Lara Media Services  

    My journey with Wonderfolk began during high school when I had the transformative opportunity to travel to Panama. This experience opened my eyes to the profound impact of cultural exchange and community service. Experiencing firsthand how Wonderfolk empowers youth through art, community engagement, and nature-based projects deeply resonated with me. I am privileged to support Wonderfolk's mission of fostering inclusive communities and empowering the next generation of changemakers.

    My work revolves around developing culturally relevant marketing and community engagement strategies with a focus on reaching historically underserved communities. I am committed to leading projects that contribute to positive social change, leveraging my expertise to enhance community relationships and create lasting impact.
